Beginners
For the first time on the board rented equipment is perfectly sufficient. Inform the personnel on your aims and that you need the rented equipment for the beginners’ course when you visit the sports shop - they will give you the right equipment.
Still it is good for you to know a few things in advance:
Board: The size of the board is dependent on your weight and height. In case of doubt a short board will be better, as it turns more easily and therefore supports your first steps.
Boots: It is important that your boots fit well and are comfortable - there is higher strain on your feet than when skiing.
Binding: Make sure the binding is adjusted to suit your boots and checked by the personnel. Ask your teacher to double-check the entire equipment before the lesson.
Advanced
Your snowboard instructor knows your riding style and is happy to advise you on the different materials and properties of the different boards, boots and bindings.
