Where is my meeting point??
The meeting point is already communicated when booking - please make a note of it and mark it on the site map in the school brochure. Should you forget the meeting point the Head Office is happy to help you at all times.
How do I recognise my instructor?
All our instructors wear the red snow sports uniform. You can see the according captions on the back and sleeves of the jacket. Your instructor also has a personal nameplate on the front side of the jacket. Every instructor knows what his guest looks like and will look out for you.
Is the allocation of the children to the individual groups fix?
No, our instructors constantly assess the children’s progress and try to form the individual groups before and after the lesson so that each child has perfect learning conditions. Of course social components are also considered. Well-functioning harmonious groups, in which the children feel exceptionally good and have many friends, are only separated if absolutely necessary. Also the weaker or stronger children in these constellations have many new experiences thanks to the unique atmosphere!
Is it possible to miss a day in a group course?
You have purchased a number of coupons for your child. These are valid for the current season and can also be used at a later time in the season. Naturally you can take your child from the course also for one day. Please communicate this to the instructor. Please also inform the Head Office when your child continues the course.
What do the children get for lunch when they stay with the instructor?
In the restaurants our children get a lunch menu and drinks. The menus change on a daily basis. Your children get diversified food in sufficient amounts. Our instructors are always present and give out the food to each child. Please report allergies or other particulars to your instructor.
From which age do children visit the Snowgarden?
We recommend beginning with snow sports at the age of 3 or 4 years. In individual cases we can also give it a first try with younger children. Generally we recommend making sure the children express the whish to do snow sports. It is recommended here also to only purchase a small amount of coupons. If your child does not enjoy itself nothing is lost. Often the daily condition decides between fun and frustration.
What are my possibilities of payment?
Apart from cash in Swiss francs and in Euro we accept ec-direct, postcard, Eurocard, VISA and Amexco. Bookings that were made in advance can be paid also by bank transfer - you will receive a voucher from us.
Do the courses take place in bad weather?
As long as the mountain transports are operating our courses are carried through. We believe it very important to instruct the course participants as to the correct behaviour in bad weather. Orientation and adapting to the visibility conditions are in the foreground. Our experience shows that children that have also practised in bad weather conditions become much more confident. They learn to listen to their own body and acquire additional sensory skills.
How many children are in a group course?
As a general rule our groups consist of up to 10 participants. There can be exceptional situations in which the group comprises more children. Unfortunately it is often the case in school holidays that children show up at the meeting points unannounced as the parents still have coupons left from Christmas and forgot to inform us accordingly about this. However this only affects single days - we would like to apologise for this and thank you for your comprehension.
In which language do the instructors teach?
Our instructors organise the lessons mostly multilingual according to the nationalities of the children present. Our instructors all speak English and partly also French or other languages. If there are for instance also English, Dutch, French, and Italian speaking children in a group, instruction will be given mostly in English due to organisational reasons. Naturally our instructors make sure all children can understand them and follow the course.
Can I pass the coupons on to other children?
No, coupons are personal and carry the name of the beneficiary.
What can I do if I lost the coupons?
Unfortunately we can not do anything in this case. The coupons and the lunch time minding coupons should be treated like cash. Therefore we give you shoulder bags for your children in which all coupons are stowed away and the risk of loss becomes very small. We recommend you to leave the lunch time minding coupons at home and give the children only one coupon to take with them. With the course cards the instructor tears of the coupon himself. Attention: also here it applies that lost single coupons are definitely gone and will not be replaced by us.
How long does the trial lesson last?
The aim of the trial lesson is to clarify whether a toddler is ready for the Snowgarden and is singular. It usually takes a lesson (half a day) and is only offered on Sunday and Monday mornings.
In which courses do the children need ski poles?
Ski poles are only needed in the Blue League King/Queen courses. In the Snowgarden and in the Blue League Prince/Princess courses the children can come to the lessons without poles.
Is wearing a helmet compulsory?
No. However we recommend wearing a helmet. It is not necessary to go and buy one. You can also rent a helmet for the duration of the course in the sport shops.
My child has its lessons in the mornings - can I still leave it with the instructor for the lunch minding?
Yes, of course this is possible! You can pick up your child afterwards.
I am late and could not pick up my child from the course in time - when I arrived at the meeting point everybody had left - where is my child?
Our meeting point supervisors usually wait at least 15 minutes and only leave after all children have been picked up during this time. Children that were not picked up are taken to the Head Office by the supervisor, where children are kept in the warmth. Should you not find your child at the meeting point it will be with us at the Bahnhofplatz. Of course we also try to contact you in such cases as soon as possible.
Is the mountain transport ticket included in the course fee?
No. On our own practise areas Snowgarden and Skilift Heid, the course participants do not need a lift ticket. If the course takes place on Madrisa or Gotschna, you have to purchase a ticket from mountain transports.
